How I saved @Dune $30k in recruiting fees in just 2 months
In late May, we kicked off searches for a Solutions Architect and an Account Executive both key to scaling a fast-moving GTM motion. By mid-July, both roles were filled.
What made this search special was how full-circle it felt:
The AE hire had applied four times over the years in 2022, 2023, 2024, and again in 2025 but strangely never got the interview.
This time, he landed an interview within 24 hours. Coincidentally, he was also my second-ever candidate call at Dune. I could tell immediately: he was ready.
The SA hire was someone I had followed since mid-2022. I’d watched his career and team evolve for 3 years and added him as a lead on Day 1. When the timing aligned, we moved fast.
I started on May 20 the same day Sim API launched. IDX was just around the corner, and I flew to Permissionless NYC to meet the team and learn more. The first two weeks were all about immersing in product, syncing with interviewers, reviewing the archive, and aligning on process. Once we had clarity on scope and vision, everything clicked.
