the solution shouldn’t be putting more of a burden on the applicant, especially a financial one where people are applying to hundreds of jobs, it’s predatory and dystopian and the main issue for job searching isn’t the application itself but how the app is filtered also this doesn’t solve the ghost job market issue, what happens with the employer doesn’t remove the listing or check the submissions? ur money is just locked? the solution is coming back full circle where you had to go in person to the job with the intent (signal), ask if they were hiring, and personally hand in your resume, but without the actual in person part now

insufficient friction seems easily solvable: have an application fee + security deposit eg $30 to apply, $25 refunded upon rejection why don't companies do this? payment systems have *too* much friction?
