Every conservative should *hate* qualified immunity. It was invented by a few judges & lets government workers break the law—in cartoonish ways—without consequence. If you believe in limited government and hate "legislating from the bench," you really can’t defend this.

Harlow v Fitzgerald may be the best example of judicial tyranny, actually. Congress passes a law to secure Constitutional rights by holding state and local officials accountable for violating them. SCOTUS "amends" it by adding qualified immunity, largely gutting the law.
Wrote an essay on this a few years ago. Support for police shouldn’t mean excusing abuse. It’s not “anti-cop”—and it’s certainly not conservative—to say that no one, especially powerful government officials, should be above the law.
