Is Yapping Enough? (maybe not)
I've been posting about @turtleclubhouse for a long time, much before the Kaito leaderboards.
In the QT below I'm guessing that soon we're going to have our online identities attached to our wallets to see who's actually walking the talk.
What's currently happening in the InfoFi/airdrop world is you have 3 types of people, let's call them A, B and C.
Type A - Individuals with good engagement promoting their project and also reasonable amounts of $ to showcase their commitment to crypto + boost their projects TVL/volume etc.
Type B - Individuals with high levels of capital but don't even know or care what the project does, aka mercenary capital
Type C - Individuals with good engagement promoting their project but absolutely no on-chain activity or $ in the protocols. Promotion without skin in the game
I think the final hurdle for teams to identify and rewarded type A users the heaviest and then types B thereafter.
@turtleclubhouse recently launched 'Accounts' where you can bundle multiple wallets and attach social media accounts.
According to them, a profile is 'an identity layer' - echoing my thoughts in this post.
I've been yapping about @turtleclubhouse since before the leaderboard and I've been putting my money where my mouth is by adding good levels of liquidity to @katana and TAC Build vaults.
I think soon enough you're going to need to think about trying to become a Type A airdrop hunter. I'm actually pretty sure that's what @Yarm_AI with @MitosisOrg is trying to do as well.
Luke from $MITO even has a tweet somewhere saying:
Mitosis expedition + yapper > yapper
or something along those lines, implying it's not just about yapping, it's also about what you've been doing on-chain.
This isn't a warning or anything per-se, but I do think this is the final conclusion to the problem of teams finding 'real users'

FYI - the next phase of InfoFi is linking people's wallet activity with their kaito with their leaderboard rank.
We went the wallet route for too long, then we went down the yapping route for too long.
It's now time to bring it all together and see which people put their money where their mouth is and which people are just yapping for $
Imagine pro-rata, time weighted points for protocol deposits coupled with mindshare over time - all split between epochs to see who is still holding their TVL + yapping.
This entire thing was just trying to filter sybils effectively.
Airdrops undefeated.
