i think the balance between being delusional and practicality is one of the most underrated skills for founders. if you're overly delusional, you convince yourself that things are working well even when market feedback tell you otherwise. if you're too practical, you're being continuously swayed by differing market signals which distract you from focusing solely on building your product. both extremes lead to disaster. i have observed that the best founders are insanely good at balancing the two.
