fun fact about @AmericanAir If you check a golf bag — standard $35 If you check a clothes bag — standard $35 If you put some clothes IN your golf bag to protect the equipment, they call you back from the gate, & hold you hostage for $200 extra with no explanation Illogical
Haha. Gets worse Supervisor Aubrey: “Golf bags can only hold sports equipment. If you put anything else in there it’s an oversized bag” Me: “the bag is the same size, and it’s not overweight” Aubrey: “sir its the rules” Me: “show me the rules” Aubrey: “I can’t do that sir”
Me: “I have my son’s baseball bats, helmets, and gear in there” Aubrey: “that’s fine” Me: “so I can put up to 50 lbs of bats in there and that’s no charge?” Aubrey: “correct” Me: “but if I add 3 lbs of clothes, that’s $200?” Aubrey: “I don’t make the rules” Me: “what are the rules?” Aubrey: “I told you the rules”.
I’m sure @AmericanAir will eventually refund me because this is just illogical, but at this point I’d be willing to pay the $200 just for someone to either print me out the actual rules, or admit that this makes no sense and I’ve stumbled upon a glitch in the system.
@AmericanAir Haha Me: “so if take the clothes out, and put into a different bag, that’s only $35 extra?” AA: “yes” Me: “so bag A by itself is oversized, but the same bag A + bag B is now undersized & costs less?” AA: [thinking] Me: “ok I’ll do that” AA: “you can’t, it’s already checked”
@AmericanAir Customer service now told me that I can only put golf clubs, balls, tees & shoes in a golf bag. And that’s why I was charged. Me: “what makes it a golf bag? I put baseball bats, helmets, and cleats in there. Voila. It’s a baseball bag now. Why was I charged?” AA: no response
