🇬🇧LABOUR’S SCHOOL TAX BACKFIRE: 100 CLOSURES COMING
For months, ministers downplayed warnings that private schools would shut down under Labour’s tax plan.
Now, Treasury Minister Torsten Bell has finally admitted it: about 100 schools are expected to close.
A dozen have already folded or announced closures since January.
The Independent Schools Council says the government, including Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson, is still sugarcoating the damage.
Labour claims the tax will fund more state school teachers, but critics say it’ll leave 40,000 kids scrambling for places and 11,000 staff out of work.
