Google has a new interview. Everyone's about to copy it. But there are 3 variants already out there:
One PM's post on Reddit has gone viral. Rightly so, it's a new interview type. But it's one of three Vibe Coding Interview types to know:
FORMAT 1: 45 MIN VIBE CODING CASE The format Google tested in India is one option. It's where they ask you to vibe code a feature. Here, the focus really is on how good you are at using the tool and building "version zero" of a product feature.
FORMAT 2: PRODUCT DESIGN + PROTOTYPE The format that's actually been more commonly used is doing a whole product design case with a quick prototype at the end. It's less evaluating your tool use and more about your holistic PM skillset.
FORMAT 3: HOMEWORK WITH PROTOTYPE OPTIONAL The most common format is having a homework assignment where they ask you to design a product feature, and mention that you can include a prototype link. These assignments test your holistic PRD skill.
If I was still a VP of Product, I would adopt Format 3. It's just the best encapuslation of the PM job today. Expect many more companies to adopt it soon. That's why I put together the web's first guide on how to crack this interview. Comment "Guide" and I'll DM you my framework free.
