For various tasks in the history of the computer, at what point did it make the people using it more productive? I assume that until a certain point, converting tasks to punch cards and running them was less efficient than doing it by hand, etc.

*Modification* Tasks that can be done without a computer. I'm wondering about productivity gains, not entirely new capabilities.
