FDIC: opposed by FDR until the 11th hour, when he realized he couldn’t stop it. CCC: great program, but tiny: 250,000 with over 10 million then unemployed. The NIRA: The NRA part that tried "reshaping industry" was a failure that impeded recovery. The SCOTUS killed it in '35.

FDR's first 6 months (1933) launched the New Deal: 15 major laws, FDIC created, CCC employed 250,000, NIRA reshaped industry, and fireside chats calmed the public, redefining government's role in crisis. Trump: I'm the greatest because everything is a hoax.
Fireside chat: The 1st was the most calming, but a Hoover Treasury man deserves roughly half credit: he wrote the initial draft. The plan for reopening the banks was also devised by Hoover’s Treasury team. NB: I have nothing good to say about Trump’s supposed accomplishments.
