In a fast-growing industry like crypto especially, but in general, net worth outright is less impressive as the time that wealth is kept and ideally compounded. In some aspects keeping/growing big money is a lot harder than making it, esp if you hit on some far-tail outcome.

Like the worst case scenario if you hit on some coin or degen options trade and make $ XXmm, but use that as information that you're a genius investor, and then just start slinging stuff & blow up. Be honest w yourself, stay humble and grounded, investing is really hard.

Tbc this is something I'm going through myself. I've done ok the last few years, but did I just ride 2 bull mkts? What am I really good/bad at? Will being around others make me better? When do I get a good gauge on whether I'm actually good or should just hold benchmarks? 5 yrs?
