New @a16z podcast - it's the battle of the agentic browsers! 🥊
I tested @diabrowser and @PerplexityComet for a week, to see if either could dethrone Google Chrome.
Who emerged as my "winner"? 👇

Overall, @PerplexityComet earned a spot as my new default 👑
It has a powerful agent built in, and the connections into G Suite + ability to set Tasks unlock real use cases.
But, I also expect to remain a Dia WAU for Skills, which allow you to build workflows to feed context to.
I was impressed by both browsers from a design and functionality standpoint. It's no easy feat to get up to par with Chrome etc.
And, having a built-in assistant on every page provided real value - I found myself using AI a lot more "casually" (lower activation bar).
Perplexity pulled ahead because its general agent works so well - and, they've developed smart integrations that drive behavior across apps.
Some examples:
🛍️ Shopping - one-click checkout
✉️ Gmail and G Cal - schedule meetings, search email
🗄️ Dropbox - search / share files
Where Dia was most useful was as a pseudo-ChatGPT replacement with context.
You can build out Skills triggered with a tag - ex. "draft an email to the marketing lead of this site (and find them / their email for me!)"
Repeat workflows have always been clunky in ChatGPT!
I'd love to see a few features from any AI browser:
- Intelligent routing of URL vs. an AI search
- Proactive info / research surfacing based on my behavior
- Schedule tasks connected to calendar (ex. 1 hour before X)
- One-click recs from email (ex. "check in to flight")
Have you tried Dia, Comet, or another agentic browser? I'd love to hear what's your favorite:

@hock @a16z @diabrowser @PerplexityComet For sure - I believe @AravSrinivas is working on shortcuts:

20.7. klo 09.31
shortcuts for repetitive tasks rolling out next week on comet. more invites will be sent next week too. the browser is going to be your personal console for getting work done.
