One of the most foundational right-wing realizations is that it is impossible to vote your way from Haiti to Sweden. For a country like Haiti to get more Sweden-like, it needs one or both things: 1. A set of natural / historic conditions to develop over the very very long term, which humans do not control. 2. A set of decisive, consistent and permanent political actions to be taken which would be very very democratically unpopular
