this is what the “you can earn more interest via a hysa than your mortgage is” people never seem to understand not everything has to be a mathematical choice. the most important life decisions often aren’t. having a child doesn’t make sense financially, nor does getting pets or any number of other things, but life is about more than math. I made the same move (paying off all my debt) and can tell you unequivocally that having zero debt has allowed me to take much bigger risks with my capital knowing that everything is already taken care of - and because of that I’ve made trades I otherwise wouldn’t have, that have been my best trades to date pay off your house if you have the opportunity. it’s one of the best decisions you can make in your life.
