Why am I afraid of China? Well, if they define the 21st century, it's possible they do a Morganthau plan to the U.S. And that means a lot of us will die because Chinese national security thinkers won't want to take the risk of America having industrial capacity again.
Fundamentally, Trump and the GOP are fine with signing over America to China. They are oligarchs, and if China finds a place for them as rulers of the American province, they are ok with that.

The point is that protecting ourselves from Chinese influence is *defensive.* It means industrial sovereignty, not military battles. But that's impossible to square with Wall Street and our posture in the Middle East.
