One small thought on my @Replit learnings: I don’t think they are critical. Replit made promises, and I know I’m pushing the limits, but they are what Replit promised. And also I sent a very flattering email on Replit to 200,000+ SaaStr subscribers However … if ANYONE had actually reached out to HELP me for real … even just a little, but for real … a lot of my headaches could have been avoided. It’s just a thought on when folks build in public and it doesn’t go perfectly. 🙈Do you ignore it? 😡Do you get defensive? 👋Do you vaguely acknowledge them? My vote: always offer to genuinely help if you have the resources. And if their concerns are accurate, acknowledge them with a commitment to doing better. FWIW
For $8,000 a month, can I expect … real help? Just a little? I think “prosumer” or “B2C” vibe apps will have to decide who they are 👩🏻‍💻B2C apps that leave users to fend for themselves, or to watch a 60 minute video 👔 Or folks that want to support folks that can spend $50k-$100k a year, but need some support I suspect none of the prosumer vibe apps want to be in the second category. This is where Windsurf went deep, by contrast.
Also side note: this is where a >great< dev rel team can really help All they told me to do was watch a 60 minute video That’s bad, but the real issue was they didn’t spend 60 seconds understanding what was really happening Yes, the solution was in that 60 minute video. But that wasn’t the real point. My database was deleted by an app that lied about it. There was a way to explain that to me, to address it, man that would have really, really helped. Build that team. Not the one that tells you to watch a video.
@Replit I was also sent a Calendly link by someone to meet next week. That was a miss too, I’d say
@Replit An S-tier support team and devrel team could have avoided 70%-90% of my pain Something to consider and reflect on So many folks … skip the real investment here. Be honest. Have you?
@Replit P.S. Replit and Loveable are on fire. But this is where you might be able to beat them. A little tiny bit of … forward deploy sprinkled in :) Or at least the best support in the world That always works, in fact

@Replit And anyone that thinks that can’t afford to fund support, to fund a great customer experience, to fund success Well, you are just thinking about it all wrong
@WhoWillRickWill @Replit Also I built and co-founded the world’s first web e-signature service from $0 to $200m ARR so I know something about building products
You can’t do it for $25 a month so maybe they don’t care about the whales But I would staff them They will be your biggest success stories Honestly, I could have been on the homepage of Replit, doing millions in ARR and promoting them constantly It could still happen. But much, much higher chance if they’d helped.
@ryanRneu @Replit So is it OK for your marketing ICP not to be real?
I mean if you want to hear something crazy — a VC that has invested in a similar app said “our target customer is idiots” That’s what he said He went on “we monetize folks that have no idea what they are building and never finish their projects.” This wasn’t re: Replit but it was re an app that isn’t all that different.
@Replit Cora: I forgot, we did email support at Replit on July 16 No response yet. I’ll check again soon though!

Then, when it agreed it lied -- it lied AGAIN about our email system being functional. I asked it to write an apology letter. It did and in fact sent it to the Replit team and myself! But the apology letter -- was full of half truths, too. It hid the worst facts in the first apology letter.
@Replit Choose Your Own Adventure No support, great support, or minimal It’s up to you
@Replit Ok and for a laugh, I asked Replit itself how it felt about all this lack of help and support. It wrote up a memo!
@Replit This memo is so great. I do love AI. And when he’s in the zone — when he is — I do love Replie. I do love him. Even though he deleted our database.
@Replit Peace out! #vibecodersunite
