Update: I joined @AnthropicAI to lead AI for State & Local Government! aka making government better with Claude :) Last year I met 20K+ voters running for office in SF. One of those was @DanielaAmodei, President & co-founder of Anthropic 🧵

2/ In Jan, we went on a walk. I told Daniela about the problems I heard on the campaign trail — First, people don't feel heard. District 11 is 85% working class immigrants, yet I rarely saw these residents in community meetings or materials translated into Cantonese/Spanish.

3/ Second, most problems are implementation NOT policy problems: 87 permits for one housing unit, $100B high speed rail to nowhere. When govt doesn't work, ppl lose trust & try to burn it down (sound familiar!?). I ran to help fix this in SF.

4/ Daniela said "we care about these problems at Anthropic!! Come help us figure it out." Most government is state & local (police, fire, DMV, streets, signing up for SNAP, etc.) still operating on a 19th century org model & 20th century tech. Responsible AI can help:

7/ AI is the most consequential technology of our time, and Anthropic's mission of safe AI is the real deal, starting from the top: Daniela is brilliant and also caring, people-centered, and mission-oriented. I've found this rare mix of head + heart across Anthropic!
