Despite the propaganda, "based rollups" or "native rollups" do not scale synchronously-composable state on the @ethereum L1: - If the execution trace is determined beforehand, synchronous composability in any useful sense is impossible. - If the execution trace is determined by the L1 validator doing execution, execution is no more scalable than L1 EVM execution is already. If @ethereum seriously wants to scale synchronously composable state on the the L1, @ethereum must go back to execution sharding. There is no alternative. Full arguments in the link 👇
