Shaga: The First Fully-Integrated Consumer Crypto Network @playonshaga is a DePIN network built on @solana that turns idle gaming PCs into a distributed cloud gaming platform from users providing their compute 🧵
Shaga allows anyone to play AAA games from anywhere in the world, even without heavy-duty gaming PCs. Shaga leverages machines already built to create this distibuted network: gaming PCs.
How are they able to do this when Google, Xbox, and Nvidia are struggling? Neural Game Codecs (NGC) and Neural CDNs Instead of just sending pixels (what you see), Shaga sends causality (why you see it). "It's like shipping a recipe and a few key ingredients instead of the fully cooked meal." - @photons_enjoyor This is what the team defines as "causal reconstruction". Each NGC is trained on individual game inputs, allowing it to predict what the player is trying to do. The system reconstructs the predicted frames locally on the user's device, and only the unpredictable, hard-to-model elements (like sudden explosions or user interface pop-ups) are sent as tiny "delta corrections" to ensure the picture is perfect.
Since launching invite-only in March, Shaga has streamed over 204.6K hours, 50.4% MoM growth!
