I regret to inform you that an agentic browser will not be a thing. Two reasons: 1. The browser is a labor AND leisure tool 2. Cost and willingness to pay

1: We will happily automate away trivial tasks, the way that we accept Waymo in lieu of Uber, but our web browsers are only part "labor hour." We will never ask an agentic browser to "watch an episode of Love Island" the same way we will never hire someone to eat our dessert.

2: The core challenge with the test-time compute required to power agentic web browsing is that it is REALLY EXPENSIVE. Far too expensive right now to pass off to the consumer and ask them to pay for it directly. It will take some time for this to net out.

2 (cont): While the demo of booking a flight is like catnip to people here, the imprecision and bid ask spread is too large for people to vote with their wallets.

While none of us will use an agentic browser, we will probably use non-browser agentic assistants that orchestrate browser use themselves.
