This week we are sharing more details related to fast state commitment computation

Eclipse Labs22.7. klo 00.55
1/ Blockchains need fast, secure ways to update and verify data.
In AlDBaran Part 1, we hit 48M updates/sec (20x faster than rivals).
Today, we reveal how to tune AlDBaran for even better results:

Sharing some of the recent work we did on multidimensional fees

Eclipse Labs11.7. klo 02.02
1/ Fee markets are an often overlooked component when discussing performance, but they’re crucial for scalability.
The EVM today can not scale beyond a single execution core because it does not support local fee markets.
Additionally, blockspace efficiency is greatly reduced due to poor resource accounting and gas rebates.

Interesting discussion

Instead of calling them "centralized sequencers" we should call them "single sequencers"
A single sequencer is not "centralized" because it can still preserve most of the key qualities of decentralized systems such as:
- verifiability
- liveness
- permissionlessness
It only sacrifices censorship resistance but even then it can still inherit some CR from the L1 via mechanisms like inboxes
TL;DR single sequencers can still be very decentralized, so calling them "centralized" is a psyop

Feels like the right moment for this thread with the Robinhood L2 chain just announced.
Rollups were first conceived as a "scaling solution" for Ethereum. This framing is wrong imo. It's a new paradigm for the future of Web3 that will win out against monolithic chains (1/8) 🧵

Another major and exciting performance milestone after speeding up ed25519 — this time, we have authenticated state updates at close to 50M per second, just in time for @EthCC

Eclipse Labs1.7. klo 01.11
1/ We just broke the state-commitment bottleneck at Eclipse:
AlDBaran sustains 48M updates/sec on a 96-core AWS box, accelerating Eclipse's GigaCompute rollup.
