This man married a U.S. citizen and has spent three years separated from his wife and daughter—trapped outside the country by a cruelly slow and opaque immigration system. I hope they thrive now that they’re reunited. But families shouldn’t have to suffer like this. They deserve a better system.

Since news of OpenAI’s Windsurf acquisition leaked in May:
- Anthropic throttled Claude 3.x access
- Cursor, Codex, Devin, Claude Code sped ahead
- Now Windsurf’s CEO + top researchers are off to Google
It looks like a win for Google — but maybe also for OpenAI. They held the option just long enough to hamstring the competition.
