Before diving full-time in to crypto, I was Head of Talent at a pretty well-known software company.
There are three things that you must nail when hiring in crypto (or any industry for that matter) today.
These traits combined allow you to create 10x people at will. If you manage to do this, everything about your business becomes an order of magnitude easier.
Here's the list:
1) High agency - you must hire self-starters. Sounds ridiculously simple, but these people are really, really hard to find
2) 2) AI native and willingness to keep up with latest tools is a must. There's a beautiful synergy with 1) here and this is what allows these people to do so much more than folks that have neither
3) Trust. This is two-pronged, you must explicitly trust these people but you also need to trust them to own their respective verticals. This is the great magnifier, and without this the floor falls from beneath your feet
Combine the three traits above and you have a pack of winners - and thus a winning company.

I think Hyperliquid protocols can be divided broadly in to two categories:
1) Existing category leaders who will form the base infrastructure everything else gets built on (Unit, Kinetiq, Hyperlend all great examples)
2) The stuff that gets built on top because the protocols in 1) make it possible
We're still in early innings for 1) and hardly scratched the surface for 2).

Corewriter + read precompiles are enabling next-gen DeFi

The CoreWriter system contract was activated on mainnet two weeks ago.
CoreWriter and read precompiles allow trustless two-way communication between HyperCore and the HyperEVM, enabling builders to create an entirely new class of HyperEVM applications that interact with the liquidity and performance of HyperCore.
For example, LSTs on other chains are usually controlled by an offchain multi-sig because staking occurs outside of the VM. The next generation of Hyperliquid LSTs can be built using read precompiles and CoreWriter for an entirely onchain tokenized staking experience. Furthermore, these onchain LSTs can participate in staking-related functionality through actions initiated from the HyperEVM, such as onchain LST-holder governance to deploy HIP-3 assets.
As another example, borrow lend protocols can use read precompiles to incorporate prices from order books on HyperCore into more robust oracle prices. CoreWriter then allows these protocols to trustlessly liquidate undercollateralized positions on HyperCore order books.
The seamless composability of HyperCore and the HyperEVM will be essential to enabling builders and bringing finance onchain.

I think that Hyperliquid is going to spawn some epic protocols built by generational builders.
All the best and brightest are either there, or coming soon.
Trust me - I've spoken to many.
Why would they go there?
Because the tech and culture combined is something that no other platform can offer right now, and I don't see that changing.
Fundamentals over everything.

I measure our success in years, and the aim is no less than to make a big impact on the space, because Hyperliquid - and crypto as a whole - deserve a great stablecoin that lives onchain from start to finish.
