We added a new Retail Size filter with the Visa team that assumes that retail transactions typically fall under $250 as we know that the avg txn size at Visa is $45.
What we found was that while 0.5% of adjusted volume notional volume was retail sized, 41% of the adjusted txn transaction count was retail size!
This suggests there is some weight to this methodology as we expect retail payments to include a larger number of smaller ticket items
