I asked @JustJake how startups can build a moat: "There's only two moats: solving hard problems, and doing hard things. It's easier to make money with money than it is to make progress with money. Today, our economy is largely just moving money around. There's nothing wrong with that. But we've made the hard stuff a lot more difficult to do. You can't really get a loan and go build a factory. You can, but it's really hard. There are a lot easier ways to make money. And we're losing a lot of the edges of society that actually build things and push us towards progress. Over time, you get less and less of these people and organizations with esoteric skills. At @Railway we believe there's a strong opportunity to do complicated or difficult things that have become a lost art."
