sitting in an interview with a candidate. watching his eyes flit back and forth between the camera and a second monitor to his left as he silently writes suddenly competent code after fumbling all the verbal discussion questions what are we even doing here
the exercise is in SQL and he's writing every query and every CTE directly top to bottom and appending table aliases to columns before even writing the FROM clause. one of the aliases is wrong. i point this out; he doesn't know what an alias is
@ded_ruckus @BenLiddicott @Waterquag in my typical case the amount of time I would have to spend writing a prompt that captures the full context and desired output would be much greater than writing the query itself, and it's important for me to actually _think through_ the operations I want the code to . . . encode
@fmr_syfurr_punk mind if i ask which branch you worked at? no pressure at all ofc
@Ruf_Omn_Rex I was going to fix the table names but now I think I'm just going to leave them
@GoodAmericanMan @harmphreyTTV @GeneHof1918 begging everyone to take the race war elsewhere
@SquaresToCubes "you can't factor a prime of any size" yes
