Unused website update!
DOGE continues to partner with agencies to delete unused/obsolete websites. In the last few weeks, 69 sites have been deleted, including:
-@NASA: deleted 26 sites for total savings of $500k/yr
-@NSF: deleted 8 sites for total savings of $868k/yr
-@Interior: deleted 5 sites for total savings of $4.1M/year
See before/after images for a recently cut @Energy site which, until a few weeks ago, was advertising a science workshop that took place in 2004, over 20 years ago!

Unused Software License Update!
@USDA saved $14M/yr by removing 6,323 unused PowerApps (20,708 to 14,385), 2,549 Team Domestic Calling licenses (8,412 to 5,863), 822 Project Planners (2,116 to 1,294) and 2,335 Visio licenses (4,987 to 2,652).
@NASA saved ~$500k/yr by removing 2,500 unused Office licenses (60,000 to 57,500).

Agencies often have more software licenses than employees, and the licenses are often idle (i.e. paid for, but not installed on any computer). For example, at GSA, with 13,000 employees, there are:
- 37,000 WinZip licenses
- 19,000 training software subscriptions (and multiple parallel training software platforms)
-7,500 project management software seats for a division with 5,500 employees
- 3 different ticketing systems running in parallel
Fixes are actively in work.

The National Weather Service @NWS is collaborating with DOGE to modernize its nationwide Weather Radio system. Of their 1033 transmitter sites, ~380 still rely on copper lines from the 1960s.
These lines are expensive ($17M/yr) and faulty. For example, Los Angeles’ T1 line goes down twice each year for 2-14 days. Last week, the team flew out to upgrade from copper to wireless.

Year over Year Contract Obligation Update!
As of June 8th, annual non-defense federal obligations are down 22.4%, (~$25B),
as compared to 2024. This is an additional ~1.9% reduction from last month. Cash outlays will follow as obligations come due.
Our initiative to reduce wasteful spend, consistent with the DOGE Cost Efficiency Executive Order, continues to bear fruit.
