Brie Wolfson (@zebriez) launched Stripe Press after being incepted by @patrickc. It's one of a career's worth of things that seem little and zig-zaggy at the time that you might only say yes to in the first place if you're comfortable in Flounder Mode. Brie coined the term after spending a day with @kevin2kelly and writing a phenomenal, personal, and original profile on him. The profile is as much about Kevin's impact on Brie as it as about Kevin himself, which is a fitting way to profile someone whose work has touched so many careers. Flounder Mode is a way of building a career by following your curiosity. It's winding, weird, and often illegible. I know something about this - I've been in Flounder Mode without having the words for it before reading Brie's essay. We talk all about Flounder Mode - why it feels uncomfortable, whether you can ever get over that feeling, and how to do it well - in our conversation. We also talk about how Brie wrote such a beautiful and different piece. A lot of nitty gritty on writing and creating a very personal career. One of the fun things about Flounder Mode is that I get to have conversations with people I've long admired from afar, like Brie. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

After the Windsurf deal, I started thinking about whether we just took for granted that founders were a Cornered Resource but can't anymore. Cornered Resources with feet are not cornered. Turns out, @ganeumann beat me to it by 6 years. From the intro of A Taxonomy of Moats:
